2. Explore Zinfandel’s Food Pairing Abilities
Over 90% of Zinfandel is grown in California and Red Siren Zinfandel sings her seductive song from Lodi, Ca. Red Siren’s Zinfandel is aged in American oak barrels and the Petite Sirah in French oak, both for 18 months. The blend is 80% Zinfandel and 20% Petite Sirah. These two varieties create an end result that is greater then the sum of its parts yielding a smoky, spicy, rich wine that is powerful. When pairing a wine with BBQ foods, or big, rich meaty dishes, having a wine that can stand up to them is essential. In California, the BBQ is merely an extension of our kitchen. That is why we make a wine like “Red Siren Zinfandel!”
When it comes to Zinfandel and food pairing-there are no rules! Zinfandel is made for pure pleasure, so drink what you like. Zinfandel, in all its diversity is just as comfortable at an elegant dinner party as at casual family meals.
